Mrs. April Schweizerhof

In 2006, I graduated with a Master of Education Degree in Elementary Education from Wayland Baptist University and received the Jordan Ford Outstanding Graduate of Master of Education Award.  This is my 18th year as an educator, and I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade as a classroom teacher and Kindergarten through 5th grade as a Gifted & Talented Teacher.

I truly enjoy working with students in ALL grade levels!  This has led me to pursue a career in Librarianship, and in 2019, I earned my School Librarian Certification (Pre-K – 12th grade) from Texas A&M University, which is where I also earned my Master's degree in Educational Technology and Library Sciences.

Throughout my years as an educator, I was the recipient of the Distinguished Educator Award at James L. Masters Elementary in 2012.  In 2013, I received the KENS5 ExCEL Award for Excellence in Education, and in the same year, was the recipient of the Trinity Award as the Distinguished Educator for the Judson Independent School District.  Up until 2018, I taught at Crestview Elementary, which was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School.  And in 2018-2019, I received the Distinguished Educator Award at Wortham Oaks Elementary.

This is my fifth year serving as the Library Media Specialist, and I have the privilege of working with students of all ages!  With my love for reading and educating our youth, I strive to partner with our school faculty and parents to instill and nurture a passion for reading and learning in all our students and to make a positive impact on their lives.
